At Home Highlights
1. Style your hair first
Always apply highlights to dry hair and make sure your hair is styled the way you would wear it normally. This way you can see just where to put the highlights so the complement your hairstyle.
2. Color outside the lines
Highlights don't have to be perfect, make some strands thicker, and some take to the root while others stop before reaching the bottom
3. Practice with Hair Conditioner
Before putting the bleach in your hair apply some conditioner on the applicator and practice making a few fake highlights just to get the hang of it. Be sure to work on areas where you don't plan on placing real highlights and once you get the hang of it then apply the bleach.
Also remember to test a small area before doing a large area. (you don't want to end up with orange hair stripes!!!) And follow the instructions on the box as well.
Take it from me I am a long time at home hair dye person and it can be rewarding, However if you do one step wrong it can make for dire results. (lol purple hair in Jr High is just not fun)
I hope you all enjoy the tips I share. Please feel free to leave a comment and for those that have thanks so much it helps me to know what you like and don't like.

Beauty Survival Kits
Any where you travel your going to want to have some basic items with you.
Whether you are on vaction or just at home these items will come in handy. At the very least you should have:
Clear lipstick or chapstick:
Just for those moment when that sudden kiss may come up, You don't want him kissing rough lips do you?
Dental floss and toothpick:
A single strand of dental floss coiled up and tucked away can really save you from an embarassing moment.Nothing like leaning in for that big kiss and him seeing a chunk of broccoli stuck in your teeth.
Mini mouthwash:
Again is a life saver, just go to the bathroom after eating and swish with a little and away goes the smell of that liver and onions you just ate. Ha Ha Ha
Mini trial size perfume:
Freshen up anytime by carrying a miniture purse-sized perfume with you. Leave your mark with your scent.
Mini bottle Hairspray or gel:
If you need to make a quick fix, or touch up.
Visine:
Did you know that visine not only remove the red from your eyes but a drop on a red blemish can remove the red from it making it easier to conceal under foundation. A concealer stick is also not a bad idea to have with you for this purpose.
Tissues:
you never know when allergies might strike, or a heart touching moment might start the tears flowing.
Mini bottle of lotion:
just to make hands touchably soft, and in dire times a small amount can be used to smooth fly aways and cowlicks.
These are some suggestions I got from glam magazine. I want to however add some of my own suggestions to this list
Mini bottle of hand sanitizer:
You never know what is on the things you touch and you can't always run to the bathroom.
A small bottle of sun block:
for when you unexpectedly find yourself out in the sun.
I hope you found this information useful and I will add more next time.
Beauty CLeaning
Makeup should be replaced. But how often?
Well here are some possible guidelines:
Foundation:
Up to 2 years, dischard sooner if it has started to change color or becomes clumpy.
Lipstick:
1 1/2 to 2 years, or when they begin to dry out.
Mascara: 3 months, simply because you move the wand from eyelashes to tube and back it increases the risk of infection.
Eyeshadow:
2 years, unless it has an odor, color, or texture change then throw out sooner.
Lip and Eye Pencils:
2 years, if it starts to stick then its dried out and needs to go.
Blush:
3 years, be aware of changes in color, smell, or consistency.
Moisturizers:
3 months to 1 year, throw out sooner if the scent changes and texture is different.
Sun Block:
1 season, when its time to dischard you'll notice it start to seperate.
Self-Tanners:
6 months to 1 year, they take on a funny smell when time to throw out.
Nail Polish:
6 months to 4 years, the less its exposed to air and sun-light the longer it will last, you can even store it in the refridgerator.
So I hope this guideline will help you
Best hair-dos for your face
Women come in different sizes and shapes, and so do their faces. What looks good on one person may not look good on you, which it took me a matter of five minutes to realize and six month to suffer with, nothing is worse than a bad hair cut.
Well today I am going to give you some hints on the best hair-do for you.
If you have an:
Oval face:
Oval Faces are almost the perfect shape. They can wear short hair or long hair, however try to avoid a hairstyle that has lots of volume on the top because it will make your head appear longer.
Oblong face:
You should create the illusion of width, and you can do this by doing your hair with long side swept bangs, or chin length bobs. You also do well with curls and wavees that frame the face.
However avoid extreme such as growing your hair extremely long or extremely short.
Round Face:
Round faces need to add length and the best way to do this is to have your hair cut just below the chin, or in graduated layers. Do not do your hair in short, blunt, one length cuts as this will make your face appear even rounder. (This tip would have come in handy when I cut my hair short)
Square face:
having a square face means having an angular jaw. The best way to help this is to draw the attention away from the jawline, this is done by adding texture to your hair. Short curls do exactly this. As well as long layers cut below the jawline. Try to avoid cutting your hair one length.
Heart-shaped face:
Bring focus to your eyes by wearing side swept bangs, a fringe on your brow or long layers at the top, or longer layers that touch your cheekbones.
Now these are just a few tips on how to avoid a disastrous hair cut. And I hope you take these into consideration when picking out the perfect style for you.

Perfect Makeup
Step 1: Foundation
Every one knows that foundation should match the shade of your skin, Be sure to blend very well foundation should cover what is not wanted to be seen but should not be seen itself.
* Tip: use a shimmering moisturizer under foundation to make your skin glow, as well as make foundation blend easier.
Step 2: Dark circles:
Always go with a concealer that is only one shade lighter than your skin tone, be careful not to lay it on too thick apart from the fact it will look like your wearing too much makeup it can damage the delicate skin under the eye.
*Tip: you can actually use eyeshadow as a concealer instead, if the dark circles are gray use a light pink eyeshadow under your foundation and if they have a blueish hue use a peach eyeshadow.
Step 3: Powder
Less is more when it comes to powder, a transparent powder is best because you don't want it to add to the foundation.
*Tip: Before applying powder blot your face with a tissue, this will remove excess oil and help prevent your face from looking shiny.
Step 4: Blush
Only apply blush to the apple of your cheeks, again start out with a small amount and build the color up. Remember it is always easier to add more than to take away too much.
*Tip: However if you do add too much blush don't panic you don't have to start over, simply moisten a sponge and dab your cheeks, this with dilute the color and return it to something acceptable.
Step 5: Lovely Lips
Basically only one rule applies make sure you wear the lipstick that is right for your skin tones, hair color, and eye color.
For a more dramatic look in the evening wear a darker shade and for a professional look during the day wear tinted lip gloss. Lip liner is also a plus, it prevents the lipstick from feathering, and if you have thinner lips you can create the illusion of fuller lips.
*Tip: If you want shimmering lips, apply a sparkling eyeshadow over the lipstick to create a shiny new shade absolutely free!!!
Step 6: elegant eyes
As long as it is applied in a constant line your eyeliner can be as bold as you wish, however try to avoid outlining the whole eye as this can lead to a raccoon look. Again eyeshadow should match skin tone, hair color, and eye color. Use lighter shades during the day and darker shades in the evening. More than one shade can be worn at a time, however be sure to blend and go from darker to lighter, ending with the lighter shade at the brow line. Mascara should be applied in thin layers building up the color and the length of the lash, this will avoid clumping.
*Tip:Blend your eyeliner with a thin layer of eyeshadow, this will make your eyes look magnetic!!
